Folded

Here's a cool picture I found on Mr. Norm's website. Check out the rear quarter...due to the A/FX construction, the structure and integrity of the car was changed. This caused the rear to "bend" down. You can tell because of the "folds" in the rear quarters.

Scooped

I know I'm not entitled to judge anyone, but I do have an opinion about something. During my quest for a new toy, I downloaded hundreds of pictures. Among this pile of eyecandy, there where a few that hurt. So why keep them? Well...you can learn from them...You can learn from the picture below, that this is a cheap-ass version of a hoodscoop. Too bad...

Just a convertible

This is one of the cars that Kurt (previous owner of my Coronet) used to own. I asked him if there's a nice story to this car. He told me that it was nothing special...just that it belonged to a couple that got married in this car and drove it all the way to Florida. Nothing special...

Hardtop vs. Post

You don't see this often on this side of the big pond. A 1964 Dodge duel on a German airfield...The black Post is owned by my good friend Jens who took me for a shotgun ride a year ago...Seen previous post? Well...Jens made me want one.

Vintage brochure

I just love those old brochures...My father having a print office, I tend to look at these drawings different somehow. Can't explain it...it's a gut-feeling I think. The atmosphere is...comfortable, exactly what these cars are meant to be.

1963 Savoy project: part 2

As you can see, the Savy is looking more and more like an empty shell.

We removed the frontent just like the way they where mounted in the factory...Torsion bars need some assistance and brute force. Normally, you must be very carefull to not scratch those but in this case, new thicker ones will be installed.

Body needs some attention. New floors but no new trunk. We keep getting amazed that everything is getting off so easy (sometimes with a little help from our friend WD40). You wouldn't expect that from a 44 year old car.

1 down, 7 to go

My good friend Jens from Germany sent me this...a Hemi-piston. It lived in an engine just a short while. Don't know the exact reason why it was expelled anymore (woops):

3D

A while ago, I made these low-poly models to use them for a website sometime. They never made it to the web...until now. Funny, while I created those models, I learned that the bodylines of these cars are very, very simular.

As it should be

Kurt, the previous owner of the 65 Dodge I bought, sent me this shot. This car, a genuine A990, is still raced today as seen here...respect.

Perfect

Auction

This is a sad picture...that guy with the mike in his hand, in front of the very important company logo-board, probably doesn't even know what stands before him: "This iiiiis, aaaa, nineteeeeeen sixty threeeee, Doooodge racecar". I wonder what happens to this guy's body temperature when he read the decal on the side...

It's this kind of auctions that worry me. Is this the black hole where multi-dollar cars disappear in? This is where guys with a lot of money, try out their macho-money behaviour and "hunt" for investments? It's a sad story...these cars where meant to be driven, not to be stored. My 2 cents...
