Always nice to visit Crazy Sundays of Six-Packspeedshop at Overpelt, Belgium. Nice people, a couple of nice cars. Not much, but some are worth a shot:

Mopair
As you might know I'm a big fan of everything that has a Solid Rocket Booster attached to it and I consider it mopar-worthy to post something about it. Here's a nice audio-clip of a Shuttle launching...how cool...

1965 A990 Clone Project in progress
The 1965 Plymouth Belvedere I is still and will always be my favorite mopar. They are hard to find. But mr. Phil Elhardt from the SW Ohio state must be a lucky man. He own's one.
He sent me some shots of the A990 klone in the make. Yes, that's right, this baby is going for the winner circle. This is going to be a factory light weight racecar...with the hemi.
It's current powerplant was for sale and now sold to the job it was made for: racing. The motor wasn't really suitable for sunday afternoon cruisin'. Check out the specs I got from Phil:
- .030 over 440cui wedge
- 12.5:1 Ross Aluminium pistons
- Eagle Aluminium H-beam rods
- Competition flat tappet camshaft with .620 lift
- 906 mopar cast iron heads (ported and polished)
- Harland Sharp 1.6 roller rockers
The new home will be a 1965 Dodge Coronet 2dr hardtop in New Jersey area where it will attend the Nostalgia Super Stock class.
Well...what goes out, must go in so...Mr. Hemi is waiting to hop in. What will it be? 426cui? 472cui or even a 528cui?
So, behind the new powerplant, there's going to be a 727 tranny and some 4.56 gears:
- 727 Torqueflite Transmission
- Cheetah manual valve body (5.0 lever)
- 10" Turbo action 3800 stall
The car itself is a story too. When Phil bought it, the odometer only stated 51,000 miles (because it was raced for 14 years). It has radio- and heater-delete and soon, there also will be dome-light delete, sunvisor-delete and coat-hook delete (will he go for rearbench delete or is this retorical?). It has drumbrakes on all four corners, just like back in the days...
I love these superstock race cars. They have nostalgia and a history. Keeps me reminding of the video somewhere earlier on my blog. I must've watched it about 1 biljon-triljon times...Ofcourse, Phil, good luck making this a project awesome and keep us posted! Thanks!

Crap
Stuck in traficjam this morning I saw this passing by. It's a Fraud Focus and it looks...well...sporty. But look closely...It has WINNIE THE POOH decals! This must be a woman's car so we drove next to it...all the WINNIE THE POOH puppets that where sitting on the dashboard where looking...AT A GUY!!! Pfff...so much for tough-plastic-euro-crap.

Pre-A/FX project
This 65 Plymouth is owned by Ed Thomson. Met him on the For B-Bodies Only forum. Take a good look at this because he's going to convert it into an A/FX! The current powerplant is a stroked 440 (505) with Edelbrock Victor heads and intake, hydrolic .564 lift cam and it's running on pumpgas. I'd love to see the endresult!

Don't you just love those car-saturdays?
Ah, today was a great car-day. We drove early to Six-Pack Speedshop in Overpelt Belgium to get Red correctly setup. The new mill doesn't run very smooth so we needed someone with real knowledge to look after her. Always nice to go there. The people are very nice and there's always someone there you know. This time, I was invited by Sander to drive along for a testrun in his 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner with a 528 Wedge. Niiiice...
Next, we went to my little shed where my friend Wilfred parked his 1966 Dodge Coronet he purchased last week. Looking at it again...it's a very cool ride. Certicard, original sheetmetal, original paint...very nice:
My nextdoor neighbor is restoring a Honda S800 coupe and besides that, he has this nice metalflake painted convertible. He handed the keys to us and let us play with nice cute cart-like car. This is really fun to drive and man, does this sucker rev!!

German Dodge
Funny. Found this picture through Google. I saw this car the first time I attented the German Mopar Nationals. Never occured to me that it was a 1965 Dodge Coronet at the time. Now that I see it again, I can remember it. It was trailered and parked at the meet. It was loud and brutal. To bad the scoop is incorrect...
